Andy Martin & Bob McChesney:
Slide By Slide
The Auditorium at Hopkins High School
2400 Lindbergh Dr.
Minnetonka, MN 55305
For the final show of the 2015-2016 concert series, JazzMN welcomes trombone masters Andy Martin and Bob McChesney sharing their individual talents with the band as well as performing together in a style reminiscent of the great duo recordings of Carl Fontana/Frank Rosolino and JJ Johnson/Kai Winding. Martin and McChesney have performed on hundreds of film and television soundtracks and are featured trombone soloists with artists/bands such as Bill Holman, Gordon Goodwin, Michael Buble and Natalie Cole. Their combined talents will provide quite an exciting closer to JazzMN's 2015-2016 season.

The JazzMN Orchestra returns to the Main Stage at Chanhassen Dinner Theatres taking audiences on a musical journey in Jazz through the Decades. Hear jazz greats from the early 1920s through 2015 with music of: Jelly Roll Morton, Bessie Smith, and Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and Charlie Parker, Stan Kenton, Dizzy Gillespie, Coltrane, Ella Fitzgerald/Nelson Riddle, Herbie Hancock, Chuck Mangione, Pat Metheny, Radiohead, and concluding with a 2015 composition by Snarky Puppy.
“This concert has a little of everything for audiences of all ages,” JazzMN Artistic Director Doug Snapp said. “It’s amazing how the final piece composed this year ties back to the early days of Louis Armstrong. It should be a lot of fun!”
Jazz historian Gerard Aloisio serves as master of ceremonies providing behind-the-scenes stories connected to the art form. Twin Cities’ “First Lady of Song,” Debbie Duncan will be featured on vocals! CBS Minnesota (WCCO) said, “This is pure jazz in all its glory.” Jazz reviewer Pamela Espeland described a JazzMN performance as: “…exciting. All those musicians, swinging hard. Horns blaring. Hot solos. And the sound, you feel it on your skin and in your bones.” Every time JazzMN performs at CDT it sells out. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear Minnesota’s premiere Big Band live on stage at Chanhassen Dinner Theatres.
