What is JazzMN doing between concerts to inspire and foster the next generation of jazz musicians?
Winter Jazz Blast is one of those initiatives.
An Educational Workshop & Showcase for High School Jazz Bands
Presented in collaboration with Anoka Ramsey Community College
We thought you might be interested in what JazzMN is doing between concerts to inspire and foster the next generation of jazz musicians. The Winter Jazz Blast is one of those initiatives. We missed a couple of years due to the pandemic. But March 25, marks the return of this long-running high school jazz band festival, this time in collaboration with Anoka-Ramsey Community College.
Aspiring young musicians not only have the fun of performing for their peers with their high school jazz groups but also get the opportunity to “learn from the pros” through clinics and master classes.
This festival culminates with a performance by JazzMN, the Twin Cities’ premier jazz orchestra, featuring student soloists selected from the participating high school groups.
We want to thank Geoff Senn and Anoka-Ramsey Community College for their collaboration and hard work to make this year’s Winter Jazz Blast possible. High school band directors can find more information at: www.arccmusic.com/jazz-festival
